Chakra Imbalances: Sacral Chakra

The major energy centers of your body, often referred to as chakras, can be

blocked, overactive, or under-active. These imbalances can cause mental, physical and emotional issues within the body and spiritual disconnect.

Below you will find the differences and how to resolve them.


Sacral Chakra- Gives you joy, sexuality, pleasure, creativity, and reproduction

·       Location: In the pelvic region, in the center of the hips between naval and genitalia.

·       Associated Body Parts/functions: Sex organs, hips, kidneys, bladder,

 ·       Overactive Symptoms: Overactive sex drive, addictions, excessive drug use, overindulgence in things such as drinking, eating, video games, etc., frequent mood swings, dramatizing things often, overly ambitious, compulsive behaviors, hypersensitivity, feeling tense or frustration

Under active Symptoms: Feelings of guilt, shyness, may have a tendency to be irresponsible, suppressed creativity, emotional isolation, lack of desire or sexual intimacy, disconnection from inner child and universe, depression, emotional disconnection, feeling unemotional or lack of excitement, feeling guarded, inability to focus, insecurity and low self-esteem, poor social skills, often comparing yourself to others, being overly serious

·       Physical Ailments that can be Associated with Sacral Chakra Imbalance: Infertility, sexual dysfunction, allergies, eating disorders, lower back pain, arthritis, abdominal or pelvic pain, depression, anemia.

·       Causes: sexual trauma or abuse, lack of creative freedom or playfulness, substance abuse

·       Balanced Sacral Chakra Indicators: Joyful, healthy sex life, playful, prosperity,

patience, passion, feeling connected, desire, being able to use imagination, ability to create/enjoy intimate relationships, able to experience life to the fullest

  • Ways to Balance on Your Own: self care and self love, practicing mantras,

yoga poses: child's pose, cat cows, cobra, bridge, camel, happy baby, exercise, eating oranges, coconut, melons, sweet fruits, & cinnamon, essential oils: ylang ylang, sandalwood, rose, clary sage, & jasmine, get outside and be in the sun, PLAY, create, meditation, self energy work such as reiki.



Seeking a Professional Solution: Reiki, IET, sound healing, acupuncture, biofeedback therapy, and crystal healing are all ways that can help open blockages. It is however, important to implement your own changes, practices, and habits to ensure you remain balanced.
